Tats4Tat Sticker Design (Closed for Input)

You need it…
I need it…
Everybody needs it…. or we die!
And when we are in an accident, need surgery, have a disease, we may need more than our bodies can provide. That’s where blood donors come in. Takes All Types (TAT) wants to reward blood donors for giving this gift of life to others…. many times complete strangers… so they may live.
Help us create Tats 4 TAT. We want a design that can be used during TAT’s fall campaign. TAT appeals to a socially active and civic-minded new generation of donors and we will be working with college students to sign them up.

the other one's preveiw was deffective, blackened out the letters. The last one is a PNG, meaning it has a transparent background. I thought it would be better to have a transparent BG instead of a white one, but the PSD I guess will do all the transparency it needs. haha

I like Skyfly's thought of using art to depict the message. Here is a different idea of saving that many people relate to.
Open to suggestions and if someone wants to take it further feel free.

the idea is to show that every person is a super human and they can do so by donating blood and saving millions of lives.

I thought of a way of creating hear as a box of donation for blood. Then I thought what would attract viewers to see just another heart. So I put the internal human body in it (This human is just any internal structure from any science magazine) to show the blood flow.
Added the text and phone number too. See if you like it or if anyone wants to take this further too I am good with that.

the idea behind the design: i have shown diffrent blood group types by different color in the blood bag. when this diffrent color mix together to give a red color. hope u like the approach

Herez a different approach. Thx to my man Mr20h for the concept and helping me put the thoughts together. Here a different version that I think will appeal to a lot of people for the sticker
Since it was a Fall campaign I thought it might be nice to visualize that with a leaf... leaves have veins, and are also a symbol of life, so it all fit nicely with the concept of blood/life. I chose red for obvious reasons. Another option would be using the same concept but three smaller leaves of different species to emphasize the "all types." I can do that if necessary. I hope you like it!

Here is a random idea I thought of that was inspired by sequoia & szitakoto. How about something that just focuses on the hand area of the "Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo? I'm thinking like the two fingers touching but with the blood donation from both wrists into a bag? I've attached a copy of the image on wikipedia.

thanks, Ill work on it once as I get back home from holiday, but maybe it will be too late as the deadline is 7 sep. you are right with conservative colleges, and your idea is great. I feel sorry that i wont have the chance to make it in time...
Hey szitakoto, thanks for the quick reply. I think there is still something that can be done with the theme of new life. Maybe if the hand is holding the baby? It may also depend upon where TAT wants to use this image. Some more conservative colleges may not like the fetus usage. Well, I'm sure many others on the site can give more input on this.

I wanted it to look ike the baby's receiving the blood... I wanted to make the hand in a serving position, and the needle to be like when you are giving blood...
I felt that it may not be the best idea to post something like this, but first time it seemed to be good... :) But you are right, it can be seen from this point of view, too.
szitakoto - really not sure how best to interpret your fetus design.... almost seems like your showing something that is sucking the life out of a yet-to-be born person. Does not seem that positive. Maybe something that makes it look more like a baby is receiving blood?

skyfly I completley understand what you are saying. I agree with you, what I meant is that you dont have to put everything in, just play around with a couple of slogans, maybe an idea can pop into your head with some of them.
But yes you are correct that we are def. focusing more on the art to relay the message.

We can put "Saving Lives" but then I think it will be too much. The idea is to get the art give a message for them to ask more or understand the obvious. Just a thought?

What about somethign that has somethign about "saving lives".
I think that is a very important message to present to people. Giving blood is one of the easiest ways to really help a person in need.

Hey guys! All of the tats are looking great so far!
We were wondering if maybe we can we fit in Text ‘BLOOD’ to 69866” somehow? I think that we could use that instead of "takesalltypes.org" or even have both. - just an idea. Something to play around with.

Thx Redwood, I actually thought bout the gun. But I thought it will look Kick A$# and will attract and make it look cool as a sticker. I can play with the guns and put needles in their hands :) HAHAHA
Ha! TSD2747/artfinger is a riot. I think people with kids will like that one; hopefully the adults give blood so they can get a sticker for their kids. Altho the guns may put a few off.
Sbill...I really like the idea with the leaf veins as well. I agree with redwood on it maybe needing something. Maybe on the tips of the major veins, you could add a blood type (A, B, AB, O)?

thanks artfinger... I have a high res version of the file but I'll wait until they ask for it. I wanted to keep the leaf red because of the symbolism. Also, it would save them production/printing money depending on the different applications they wanted to put the logo on if it remains just a 2-color job.
